We are very involved in spreading the gospel and helping meet the needs of the people of Haiti. This small island country in the Carribean is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere and a foothold of Voodoo. Help us win Haiti for Christ!
Cadouche
We have helped start a new congregation in the rural town of Cadouche in northern Haiti. This a particularly poor area, even by Haiti standards. Rum stills are the main source of income for the residents. And the local Voodoo doctors holds great sway over the people. The light of the gospel is beginning to penetrate this dark place.
Fonrose Teogene is a prominant church planter and preacher who lives in Cap Haitien. He is helping develop the Cadouche Church of Christ. The congregation has quickly grown from 25 to over 100 people. We have helped the Cadouche Church of Christ purchase a plot of land, build a latrine, and dig a well. Of course, there are often special needs for food and medicine, which we try to meet as we can. We hope to help them build a building in the future. Fonrose has announced his desire to start a K-1 school at the church location this Fall 2010. Please pray for this work.
